Please mark your calendars for Saturday, 22nd February, 2020 for DineAround the West End – the sixteenth annual progressive dinner to benefit the West End Civic Association.

DineAround is the major fundraiser for WECA, making it possible to support or organize free events and activities including summer movies in the park, block parties & the Farmers Market, as well as providing funding for the neighborhood Newsletter, education support and community and arts grants for individuals & groups. We expect 250+ guests to gather for Opening & Dessert receptions and dinner at homes throughout the West End for this annual event.

Community Matters

The West End is beautiful; anyone passing through can see that. But that is only the start of what makes living here special. This neighborhood is about engagement: with each other; with our city ; with civic life. It ’s the stuff that democracy is made of, and your participation matters. A neighborhood organization is only as strong and useful and relevant as the neighbors who make it happen. Join WECA. Come to dinner. Help the West End thrive.

What you help us fund

Proceeds from DineAround the West End will support the programs of the West End Civic Association. Thanks to the generous contributions from neighbors like you, WECA was able to provide grants to six organizations in 2019 in support of our community. We worked with the United Methodist Church to support the community breakfast and with the Elizabeth Park Conservancy to sponsor summer Concerts in the Park as well as Sonia Plumb Dance in the Park .

Through the work of the committees and the grants WECA provides, our neighborhood helps to provide educational and support programs for the betterment of some of our most venerable populations; funding the West End Wednesdays literacy program at the Mark Twain House, summer programs via Camp Courant and immigrant support programs at the American Place at the Hartford Public Library.
